At first, I wasn't sure if I'd like this stand style because it puts all the pressure on the head/neck, however my professional playing friends assured me there would be no damage. When I got it, I was pleasantly surprised at how wide you can adjust the tripod legs. The locking arms are pretty cool, but can get in the way if you have a wide neck bass.
